Demonstrations, not client work

We have no clients yet. So we built the portfolio instead.

Every studio in this business opens with a wall of client logos and three testimonials. We do not have those, and inventing them would be the fastest way to lose you.

So we did the only honest alternative: we built three complete photography websites for studios that do not exist — one for weddings, one for portraits and families, one for real estate.

They are real sites, not pictures of sites. Open one. Scroll it on your phone. Press the buttons. Fill in the form and watch it tell you, honestly, that nothing was sent because it is a demonstration.

Three different studios, on purpose. Yours would not look like any of them.

Each demonstration has its own palette, its own typefaces and its own structure, because a wedding photographer and a property agency are not selling the same thing to the same person. The only thing the three share is the standard of construction.

Demonstration one

Wedding Canvas Studio

The brief we set ourselves: a long, quiet gallery where the photographs are the whole argument, and the enquiry is never more than one tap away.

Weddings are decided emotionally and then justified practically, so the gallery runs long and unhurried before the page says a single word about money. Prices are published in full further down, because a couple who cannot afford you should find that out on the website rather than in your inbox.

  • Full-bleed opening photograph, headline over it, nothing else competing
  • Staggered gallery that breaks the grid, so it reads as a portfolio and not a product listing
  • Three collections with everything included listed plainly
  • Cormorant Garamond and Inter, bone and charcoal with a dusty rose accent

Open the wedding demonstration

This is the real site running, not a screenshot. Scroll it here or open it full screen. Wedding Canvas Studio is an invented studio — not a real business and not client work.

Demonstration two

Rowan Hill Portraits

The brief we set ourselves: warmth first, prices visible without scrolling, and a booking that takes three clicks.

Family sessions are a smaller decision made more often, so this one front-loads everything a parent needs: what it costs, how long it takes, and when they can have one. The price appears in the first screen, which is unusual in this category and is exactly why it works.

  • Split opening — the offer on the left, the photograph on the right
  • Session fee stated above the fold, on purpose
  • Three session types and no more, so nobody has to choose from a menu
  • Lora and Inter, cream and walnut with a sage accent, softer corners throughout

Open the portrait demonstration

This is the real site running, not a screenshot. Rowan Hill Portraits is an invented studio — not a real business and not client work.

Demonstration three

Northline Property Media

The brief we set ourselves: fast, dense and sortable, for an estate agent with a listing going live on Friday.

Nobody browsing this site is having a feeling about it. They want to know the turnaround, the price and whether you can be there on Thursday. So the numbers are in the first screen, the recent work filters by property type, and the whole page is built to be read in ninety seconds.

  • Turnaround, price and availability as figures in the opening screen
  • Filterable recent shoots, working without a page reload
  • Published per-property pricing with an agency account rate
  • Archivo and Inter, white and graphite with a slate blue accent, tabular figures

Open the real-estate demonstration

This is the real site running, not a screenshot. Try the property-type filter. Northline Property Media is an invented studio — not a real business and not client work.

The obvious question

“Anyone can make a nice demo. What about real clients?”

Fair, and we would ask it too.

The answer is that the demonstrations are not the promise — the free preview is. We will build you a real site, with your real photographs, before you pay anything. At that point you are not judging our demonstrations any more. You are judging yours.

When we have real client work we will replace this page with it, and we will say which ones were founding clients.
